Today, we speak with Olivier, Quality Operations Manager at Naturalvi. He shares his background, daily role, and the key challenges of quality in developing sustainable packaging solutions.
Naturalvi : Hello Olivier, could you introduce yourself and tell us about your background before joining Naturalvi?
Olivier : I am 54 years old and have an initial background in accounting and management. My career developed in the packaging industry with a manufacturer of aluminium cans, where I progressed from accounting and payroll management to supply chain management, and later to production and quality. This progression allowed me to gain a cross-functional, end-to-end understanding of industrial operations.
Naturalvi : How long have you been working at Naturalvi, and what made you want to join the company?
Olivier : Following the closure of the site where I was previously working in June 2022, Naturalvi took over the facility. This is how I came to know the company. I was quickly drawn to this solid, family-owned Alsatian business, with a strong commitment to sustainability and needs that closely matched my cross-functional experience.
Naturalvi : In a few words, what does your day-to-day role look like as Quality Operations Manager?
Olivier : I oversee quality controls, manage non-conformities, and ensure the monitoring of our certifications (BRCGS, ISO, PEFC). I also work on developing digital tools to modernize our processes while supporting the teams daily on the ground.
Naturalvi : What motivates you the most in your daily work at Naturalvi?
Olivier : Contributing to the company’s growth and taking on new challenges.
Naturalvi : Why do you believe quality is a key issue in the development of Naturalvi’s packaging solutions?
Olivier : In the packaging industry, quality is directly linked to safety, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. Our certifications are genuine guarantees of trust. Quality is also essential to uphold the credibility of our environmental commitments.
Naturalvi : What does working for a company committed to sustainable packaging solutions mean to you personally?
Olivier : It represents the opportunity to contribute to a credible alternative to plastic. Knowing that our work supports a broader environmental initiative is truly rewarding.
Naturalvi : Do you have a memorable experience or a standout moment since joining Naturalvi?
Olivier : The successful implementation of our quality tracking systems on tablets across production, maintenance, and logistics. Seeing the teams embrace these new tools, replacing paper-based processes, was a real highlight. Our ultimate goal is to achieve a paperless environment within the company.
Naturalvi : If you had to give one good reason for someone to join Naturalvi, what would it be?
Olivier : Joining a company with a human scale where everyone can innovate and contribute concretely to a sustainable approach.
